Aglianico is a variety of black grapes prevalent in Campania and Basilicata. With its grapes are produced structured wines, with high alcohol content and rich in tannins.
In Campania it is mainly cultivated in two provinces: Benevento, where it is vinified as Aglianico del Taburno DOCG, and Avellino where it is vinified as Taurasi DOCG.
In Basilicata it is cultivated in the province of Potenza. The main denomination is Aglianico del Vùlture Superiore DOCG, but you can also find it in the simplest version Aglianico del Vùlture DOC.
