Valle d'Aosta DOC is the only, large, designation of Aosta Valley, established in 1971. Territorially, it covers the entire vineyard of the region, concentrated on the slopes around the Dora Baltea river.
The designation is very articulated; it provides a large number of wines produced in purity, with both native and international grapes, the omni-present assemblies and various geographical specifications. In fact, each of these types can be considered a small denomination.
