Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturale DOCG is a sweet passito red wine produced in Apulia, in the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi. For grapes type and treatment, it is a wine similar to Primitivo di Manduria DOC but unlike this one it is sweet, i.e. with residual sugar. To achieve this, the fermentation process, which turns sugars into alcohol, is stopped before it is completed.
The wine is made from grapes of the homonymous black-berries vine, the Primitivo.
Profile
The color is intense ruby red with garnet highlights; from the very broad bouquet emerge intense fruity notes (berries, cherries, plums), hints of ripe fruit, in spirit and jam, spicy notes of tobacco and licorice; The flavor is sweet, very structured, great softness, opulent, with a very present fruit aroma and sustained by the important alcohol content.
Food pairing
The sweet wine is able to smooth the angularity and, at the same time, be intriguing even for the palates less accustomed to this noble beverage. Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturale DOCG is first and foremost an excellent meditation wine, drunk on its own or accompanied with good dark chocolate. At the end of a meal with friends or during an event, it combines very well with blue cheeses, aged cheeses and dry patisserie.
